At school I was never any good with understanding strategy. To me it just seemed like a waste of time and something for nerds to do.
And it was, of course (not a waste of time but something for nerds to do). Now I know it to be true because let’s face it: to a large degree nerds really DO rule the world. They are the ones who sort out everything technological. Without them, quite simply, civilization would revert back Read the rest of this entry »
For a long time I used to mock people who had iphone’s and wrote blogs. I mean, I write blogs so I can hardly talk, but what I mean is this: I used to mock people who updated their Facebook status fifteen times a day and who used blogs to tell the world about all the trivial things they had done. And yes, I do still mock them, but because of what happened yesterday I do now have some sympathy Read the rest of this entry »
I am a girly girl. I like shoes. I like the idea of Cellulite treatment if I get too fat. I like shopping. I like buying rubbish magazines which go in to detail (if you can call it that) about celebrities and the scandal they get in to. I can’t help it, it’s just in me.
One thing I don’t get is HD TV. I just don’t see what’s wrong with regular TV. The worst thing is that all of Read the rest of this entry »
As a child I loved watching films rated 18. Horror films mainly, but anything which I wasn’t supposed to be watching was almost as good, even if it wasn’t scary at all. One of the films I loved was It. The film about the evil killer clown with bright red hair. Being the kind of child who was scared of clowns and also sort of intrigued by them (actually I was more scared of people like Chris Evans Read the rest of this entry »
Catching grass-hoppers as a young girl used to be my favourite thing to do in the whole entire world. Allow me to elaborate; it wasn’t cruel, and no harm (psychological, if that’s possible, or otherwise) was done. It was more cradling that catching. I didn’t want to cause the little fellas and fella-rets distress. I merely wanted to feel them in my hands. The strange sensation of a tiny life bopping around, a miniature coiled spring.
I used to be Read the rest of this entry »

The one thing that breaks up relationships and marriages, business partnerships and anything which involves one person needing to communicate with another via speech, isn’t affairs, it’s the moment one person says to the other “so–what are you thinking right now?” This almost always succeeds a sweet, superior moment. A moment that, looking back and trying to make sense of the break-up, appears to be the happiest moment of the relationship. Because of this sweet moment, the inevitable answer causes Read the rest of this entry »
“I love a bit of fashion, me”: you know that anyone who says that probably loves a bit of fashion a bit too much. And these alleged (dangerous to know) fashion lovers are everywhere. Only the farthest reaches of the Canadian Rockies and such other remote regions are free of this human disease. But there is no doubt in my mind that in 2,000 years Grizzly bears will be spotted wearing Kappa hoodies–

Walking down the supermarket isle, the drowning polar-bears, summit talks about climate change and worry about the glaciers isn’t exactly first priority, is it? Not that that’s your fault, of course. Every supermarket is designed to draw you in and think FOOD FOOD DRINK CHOCOLATE and you don’t stand a chance once you make it to the packs of Twix’s and Wispa’s on offer. But, as great as stuffing your shopping trolley full of Vienneta ice-cream is, there is a Read the rest of this entry »
Yesterday my Sister and I took my niece on the bus to go to a park, as we both had a day off. My niece is five and so cute, I just love hanging out with her partly because I love her to bits but also because she makes me laugh whenever I see her. She’s always been funny without trying and basically I think all little kids are natural clowns. I work in a nursery and the kids there Read the rest of this entry »
