A daily walk

I’ve always enjoyed being outside, and I was lucky enough to have a childhood that encouraged it. Every day, my sister and I would be off and about on our rollerblades, or our bikes, or sometimes our skateboards. We spent our holidays at my grandparents’ wheat farm in the countryside, and I fondly remember those times as some of the best of my life: we would set our exploring in the morning, come back for lunch, and then head back out again until the sun started to set.
I have many loves in my life Botox and food being two of them but nothing compares my professed love of the outdoors, something I’ve only recently learned to love is walking. While it’s obviously something that everyone does in their everyday lives, it wasn’t until a few years ago that I began incorporating long, thoughtful walks into my day. I began with an evening walk of about an hour or so around my local area, sometimes listening to podcasts on my iPod, and sometimes just enjoying the environment around me. Then, when I switched jobs to an office that was within walking distance—albeit, at about 50 minutes each way, quite a long walk!—I began walking to and from work each day, too. My boyfriend and I also use long walks around our suburb as ‘couple time’, where we get to chat to each other about or day, and just get to know the area where we live that little bit better.
I find that there’s something cathartic and almost cleansing about walking: when I’ve been for a walk, I feel relaxed and whole again. It gives me time to work out any problems or issues that might be troubling me, and helps me focus on myself as a person. It turns out I’m not the only one: many individuals, such as the writer Charles Dickens, incorporated long walks into their daily business. It worked for them, and it’s certainly worked for me!
Attention you guys, I have a little bit of news about the ski resorts bookings for our long weekend trip. Next week is the deadline for the overall cost, please get it to me asap.
