I am a bit sad: I get excited whenever I see a sign that says “bikes for sale”.
Yes, I am one of these men who likes looking at bikes and cars and motorbikes and all that kind of thing (and can happily sit in the pub all day staring out the window at a vintage car, none of my car mates saying anything, all of us really just immersed in the wonder of it all…). When I Read the rest of this entry »
Do you remember being a boy, going to buy a bike with your dad? (If you were never a boy then don’t panic; I’m sure this could be applied to girls, too.)In my opinion it’s a right of passage that no boy should miss out on.
The first time I went with dad to buy a bike was particularly memorable: neither me nor dad knew what a good bike was, even though my dad did his best to pretend that Read the rest of this entry »
Everyone loves a good corporate video, don’t they? Renowned the world over for their loving of cheesy graphics, bad music (usually something like jazz, and always something that seems about as ill-fitting as possible) and terrible production values, the corporate video has long been a joke, and one that true filmmakers are one to distance themselves from. But sadly there isn’t much fault I can find with the video over at Enigin TV: it’s actually quite good. It’s simple enough, Read the rest of this entry »
At school I was never any good with understanding strategy. To me it just seemed like a waste of time and something for nerds to do.
And it was, of course (not a waste of time but something for nerds to do). Now I know it to be true because let’s face it: to a large degree nerds really DO rule the world. They are the ones who sort out everything technological. Without them, quite simply, civilization would revert back Read the rest of this entry »
For a long time I used to mock people who had iphone’s and wrote blogs. I mean, I write blogs so I can hardly talk, but what I mean is this: I used to mock people who updated their Facebook status fifteen times a day and who used blogs to tell the world about all the trivial things they had done. And yes, I do still mock them, but because of what happened yesterday I do now have some sympathy Read the rest of this entry »
As a child I loved watching films rated 18. Horror films mainly, but anything which I wasn’t supposed to be watching was almost as good, even if it wasn’t scary at all. One of the films I loved was It. The film about the evil killer clown with bright red hair. Being the kind of child who was scared of clowns and also sort of intrigued by them (actually I was more scared of people like Chris Evans Read the rest of this entry »
Walking down the supermarket isle, the drowning polar-bears, summit talks about climate change and worry about the glaciers isn’t exactly first priority, is it? Not that that’s your fault, of course. Every supermarket is designed to draw you in and think FOOD FOOD DRINK CHOCOLATE and you don’t stand a chance once you make it to the packs of Twix’s and Wispa’s on offer. But, as great as stuffing your shopping trolley full of Vienneta ice-cream is, there is a Read the rest of this entry »
I hope that a lot of people come across this ‘Positive Parenting Tips’ post. It makes a lot of sense to me and I think that a lot of parents go totally the wrong way when it comes to bringing up children.
Children need to have boundaries but they also require patience and love; if they are given these then the chances are you will automatically get their respect in return.
There are far too many people who Read the rest of this entry »
This ‘A Day of The Stay at Home Mom’ post is pleasant reading. There are so many people today who are dissatisfied with their lives and it is really refreshing to come across something like this.
It is nice to hear about a woman’s simple joy of managing to spend some time playing with her children whilst working from home at the same time. It is something that a lot more of us should think about doing as Read the rest of this entry »
Being a work at home mom is not as easy as it sounds. Sure, we get to work in our pajamas and toss the alarm clock in the garbage. Oh, and yes we also get to decide when we want to work and how much. We pretty much design our own paychecks while we play with our kids. But, with that being said, working from home with kids can be quite the challenge.
Children need a lot of love and Read the rest of this entry »
